ENGLISH

The seventh art form ‘Film’ (published as such in 1911 by the Italian film theoretician Ricciotto Canudo) allows us to live lives that we would never have imagined, be spectators of incredible stories and even discover the world through the eyes of the protagonists of the art media ‘Film’. Sadly, throughout the history of this art the central figures have predominantly been men. Therefore, their productions are still a biased look of patriarchy. It was not until halfway last decade that we finally opened our minds to other realities, only because of great revolutionaries like Chantal Akerman or Lois Weber. These grant female directors showed us a new situation. This demonstrates the need to support and give a voice specially for female creators is still necessary.

Therefore, at El Laboratorio, we dedicate the second day of La Cultura Es Femenina 2020 to cinema with a female and gender vision.
